Invisalign in Medellín and in-office clear aligners

Invisalign in Medellín from $6,500,000 COP, and our own in-office clear aligners from $3,500,000 COP.

They are not the same treatment at two prices. One of them can treat almost any case, including complex ones. The other is for straightforward cases. Which is which, and which one your case needs, is below.

One aligner. A course is a numbered series of them, each one shaped slightly differently from the last.

What decides between the two is the complexity of your case, not where you live. If your case is straightforward enough for the whole series to be planned and made up front, the in-office aligners travel with you as well as Invisalign does.

Where the difference becomes real is in complex movements. Invisalign can treat cases the in-office aligners cannot, and if yours is one of those we will say so — rather than sell you the cheaper option and discover its limits halfway through.

Who treats you

Medellin Dental Solutions is the English-speaking practice of Clínica Ártica, in El Poblado. The orthodontics is done by the same specialists, under the same roof.

Invisalign chose two of them to teach other specialists.

Invisalign

Emerald Provider

We have treated more Invisalign cases than any other practice in Colombia.

That matters more in orthodontics than in most treatments. The aligners are manufactured to a plan, and the plan is the treatment. Who writes it is the whole difference.

How it works

First appointment

We scan your teeth in three dimensions with an iTero scanner — no trays of impression material. You also need X-rays to complete the diagnosis and treatment planning process.

Your plan, before anything is made

The software shows you the movement step by step, and where your teeth end up. You approve it before a single aligner is manufactured, and if something about the result is not what you wanted, that is the moment to say so.

Your aligners are made

Invisalign aligners are manufactured by Align Technology and take six to eight weeks to reach us. Our in-office aligners are made here, in about two. Either way, the second appointment is when they are fitted and you begin.

That is two appointments, with the wait between them depending on which aligners your case needs. And they are removable, which is the part people underestimate: you take them out to eat and to brush, so nothing about meals or cleaning your teeth changes.

If you do not live in Colombia

Orthodontics takes months, so the obvious question is whether it is possible at all from abroad. It is, and this is exactly how.

It is two visits, and the second one is short. The first is the scan, the X-rays and the examination. The second is the fitting, and it takes a single appointment.

Between the two, your aligners are made — six to eight weeks for Invisalign, about two for our in-office aligners. You do not wait here for that. You go home, and come back for the short visit.

At that second visit you are given the whole series at once. You leave with every aligner of your course and change them on schedule, instead of returning for each set.

Follow-ups are in person or virtual, often every two or three months. We treat patients who live outside Colombia regularly, and it is a normal part of how we work rather than an exception we are making for you.

How long it takes

Between 5 and 16 months, depending on how far your teeth have to move. The number of aligners is what sets both the time and the price, which is why a quote before an assessment is a guess.

Invisalign treats patients from around nine years old to well into later life. Almost any case can be treated, but whether yours is one of them is decided from the scan, the X-rays and the examination, not from a photograph.

What it costs

COP
Invisalign$6,500,000 – $13,500,000
In-office aligners$3,500,000 – $7,500,000

The range is not vagueness. It is the number of aligners your case needs, and that number comes out of the scan. The assessment that produces your exact figure costs nothing.

One thing worth knowing before you choose: if your teeth are in the right place and what bothers you is their colour or shape, orthodontics is not the treatment. That is what veneers are for. If it is the position, this is.

Prices are in Colombian pesos. We quote in pesos because the exchange rate moves — you can check today’s rate.
